Description: Belgrade based band Ika was formed as a duo at the end of 2006. Their first home recordings reached Ivan Loncarevic, radio host of a popular indie music show Pop Depresion, who offered to enlist the song Bubble into a compilation: Morning will change everything? - New music scene of Serbia. Soon the single conquered local radio airplay. Although the initial plan was to keep the band small, as the number of the songs grew, so did the dream of their sound. In the following year the violin contributed to the sound, and a few months before finally entering the studio a friend came with a double bass. Album Sweet Path of Gold was recorded in two days and will be released in June 2010 by Ammonite Records (www.ammonite.co.rs ). Ika played solo concerts as well as with other bands. Opened for Ken Stringfellow in Belgrade. The band loves playing live and adores their fans. Endlessly. They are charming and kind. Fun and melancholic. Pop and Americana.
