Description: "The Beautiful Children's World" - A compilation of children's songs from the most popular children's choir in Serbia, "Kolibri"
In 1963 Milica Manojlovic founded the Kolibri Children's Choir (kolibri meaning "hummingbird"). With their own distinct style of singing, inimitable performance, and a highly professional attitude they constitute a unique cultural phenomenon in Serbian milieu.
Exceptional artistic achievements brought the choir and their director a series of awards, among which the Diploma of Radio Belgrade for the contribution to the development of children's and youth music (1973), the Golden Ring of the Serbian Cultural and Educational Union (1979), Diploma of the Serbian Composer's Union for the contribution to the development of musical creativity (1980), the UNICEF Letter of Thanks (1984), Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj Award (1996) etc.
Milica Manojlovic graduated at the Belgrade Academy of Music. During her studies she worked at the Teacher's College in Novi Sad, and from 1960 as a singer and music editor on the Belgrade Radio and Television
During almost fourty years of their activities in music, the Kolibri choir has given hundreds of concerts at home and abroad, taking part in major festivals: the World's Day of the Child (Vienna), Joy of Europe (Belgrade), Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj Festival (Sremska Kamenica), Golden Sequin (Bologna), Belgrade Music Festival, Days of Mokranjac (Negotin), Denny Keye International Children's Awards (the Hague)..
The Kolibri choir also made regular appearances on radio, television and film. They recorded seven audiotapes, 19 single and 42 LP records, three CDs and three video tapes, all published by the Music Production of Serbian Radio and TV.
