Od Felinijeve zamisli za film, Milo Manara, crtac poznat po eroticnoj fantaziji i zavodnickom stilu, dosao je na ideju da napravi strip. Ono sto je zapocelo kao zabava, malo-pomalo, postalo je pravi rezijski rad na stripu. Manara je zadatak savladao svom svojom brilijantnoscu i umecem. A sto se radnja vise udaljavala od originalne zamisli, to je Felini dolazio na sve vise novih ideja. Tako se Putovanje u Tulum zavrsilo pocetkom jednog drugog – Putovanja Dj. Mastorne. Rezultat drzite u rukama. Delo se prvo cita u jednom dahu, kao strip. Potom bi ipak trebalo osmotriti svaku sliku ponaosob – kao delove freske. Crtanje je umetnost kao i pripovedanje, ali i gledanje je umetnost: dijalog posmatraca sa muzom fantazije.
