Description: Postojanje srpskih ikona na staklu, od pocetka 18. veka pa do prvih decenija 20, kroz postojanje vise radionica i nekoliko desetina poznatih ili nepoznatih majstora jeste iznenadjenje. Gledano kroz podelu umetnickih pravaca, ikone na staklu imale su prvi, zografski period, kada su oponasane ikone na drvetu, barokni period koji je trajao do kraja 18. veka i kada su kao predlosci sluzili srpski i becki bakrorezi. Pocetkom 19. veka bio je kratki period klasicizma, a zatim se, polako, srpske ikone na staklu pretvaraju u narodnu umetnost, u etnografski materijal. Najdragocenije su ikone iz perioda baroka i one spadaju u sam vrh evropskih radionica tog doba. Ova knjiga predstavlja otkrivanje i povratak srpskih ikona na staklu u njihovu veliku evropsku porodicu ove tehnike.
