Description: 8 CENTURIES OF THE HILANDAR LIBRARY National library of Serbia and Multimedia, in the cooperation with the National and University libraries from Banja Luka and the Yugoslav association for Multimedia published this multimedia edition “8 centuries of the Hilandar Monastery”. This publication contains a multimedia electronic catalogue of the Hilandar library, dedicated to the 8 centuries jubilee of this holy institution. On this publication numerous enthusiastic experts were engaged for a longer time. In the publication were treated: Mount Athos and Hilandar (with video inscriptions, a virtual model of Milutin’s Church, video inscriptions and old Serbian chants performed by the choir and soloists led by Dimitrije Stefanovic, a detailed text about the Hilandar library written by Mrs. Nada Sindik, which follows the automatic survey of the paintings of some of the manuscripts; Serbian medieval seals from Hilandar from the author Dusan Sidik with the color pictures of the seals; a special text about the Miroslav gospel with its bibliography and a multimedia data base of the manuscripts from the Hilandar library, done after the work of Dimitrije Bogdanovic, being supplemented and illustrated with nearly 500 color photographs of these manuscripts). In particular chapters a survey has been given of miniatures, flags and initial letters form the mot beautiful manuscripts. Spiritual music is constantly in the background (Mokranjac).
