The competition feature Life is a Miracle (Zivot Je Cudo) marks the return of Emir Kusturica in Cannes, on may 2004. one of the rare directors ? along with Francis Ford Coppola, Bille August and Shohei Imamura ? to have been bestowed two Palme d'Or awards: the first one in 1985 for When Father Was Away on Business and again 10 years later for Underground. In 1989, the Sarajevo-born filmmaker also won the Best Director Award for The Time of the Gypsies.
